yknow on one hand i love anders bc his entire character in awakening is so great and well rounded and then what happens to him in da2 is so sad and awful, like by the end of it he just loses his identity completely. if u ask hawke about him in dai (assuming u didnt romance him i guess) hawke says “im not sure there ever WAS an anders.” and just that in like act 2 of da2 he tells hawke how glad he is to have a friend like them bc theyll always bring him back from the brink, and then he just fuckin,,,loses his god damn mind at some point and no one even fucking notices until its too late. and all he ever was was just some dipshit with good intentions who couldn’t stop fucking up and made a mistake so bad that his entire self was cannibalized in the process. bc post act 2 da2 anders is NOTHING like earlier/awakening anders, like, at all.

but most of the time i just want to fucking strangle him for being such a Dic k
