boy, it has been a very exciting 1.5 months for me!!
I
- learned what it feels like to travel for 24 hours with no breaks
- saw the sun rise through the giant windows in HKG!!
- tried fried bamboo worms and house crickets for the first time (like, not bad… but not that impressive either tbh)
- went to Laos/Vientiane for the first time
- hung out there with a really strange but interesting old Israeli drifter guy for 3 days
- (apparently he thought I was super into him, but he did the kind thing and let me down gently. what a gentleman.)
- gave horrible secondhand embarrassment to a kindly japanese dude i was sitting next to for 3 hours and who I wish I could both thank and apologize to but will never see again and that’s probably the best outcome for both of us, honestly
- hung out with a really sweet n petite mama kitty. CATS HERE ARE SO TINY
- took a night bus which was surprisingly fun even though I didn’t manage to sleep at all for the entire 13 hours of it because i was seated next to a father-son snore team
- watched a 7 person party of Chinese tourists
at my local roast chicken place
flee from their table in absolute terror, complete with prolonged panicked screaming, because a cat walked between their legs under the table??? still trying to find an explanation for this one
- the cat did not give a single fuck. what a legend.
- hung out with that cat, too. have photographic proof. love this binch.
- tried out a bunch of new-to-me watercolor/marker and paper brands that I really like!!
- embarrass myself constantly, every day, every hour, in public, in front of people, over and over again
- still haven’t gone to sunday market in the old city since i got back
anyway, it’s been rad. i’ll draw and post something again soon, i promise
