Hey there! I just bought this lovely pink borealis set, and I noticed the d8 is waaaaaaay more glittery and holographic. Do you know what’s up with it? It’s so pretty and I would love to find more!
Looks like you got a mixed set! The d8 is the old style glitter, while the d10 is the new style. Lots of sellers currently have back stock of the old style, so I bet you can track down a set if you ask for pics before buying.
Not at all! The real reason is much weirder. You see, the old style of glitter abruptly became unavailable to use after it became a component of Euro bills, and so became illegal for anyone else to use or even own in Germany (where Chessex manufactures their dice). That’s why so many varieties of borealis have been discontinued.
