I think the funniest bit about that, to me, is that the McElroys kind of fuck up a lot?  They make a lot of mistakes.  You can dig through their history and find tons of instances of them doing stuff that they just *should not have done.*  And every time they make a mistake, someone points it out to them.  And they’re always like “oh man, we didn’t see that at first, you’re totally right.”  And they apologize, and they remember it, and they correct their behavior, and they do what they can to avoid it in the future.

Like the McElroys aren’t flawless human beings who have never behaved insensitively.  They just *actually walk the walk* when they apologize.  They use their mistakes to grow and do better.  And that’s all that people are asking of these other content creators who keep doing messed up stuff.  Growing and being a better person is hard sometimes, but the McElroys use their mistakes as a reason to do just that and like… the people who are being vultures waiting for a mistake for them to pounce on.  It’s just not gonna happen?
