i don’t think people fully understand why i’m upset by this so let’s break down why this tweet is really offensive (and specifically transphobic)
“i’m attracted to women, men” okay that’s fine
“REALLY attracted to queer men” so… you’re attracted to what? men who like other men? that’s a little fetishistic…
“non binary people” also fine
“intersex people” you’re saying you’re attracted to a specific kind of genitalia. this is also fetishization
“trans people” here’s the real kicker. you already said nb people, so you couldn’t mean them, therefore this has to mean that you don’t think trans men and women are real men and women. you think trans people are some special category.
she’s transphobic, everybody. it’s not that deep

hi y’all, can’t add an image cause I’m on mobile but if you check out Kehlani’s Twitter rn she’s already apologized, retracted the tweet, said she messed up, and thanked people for correcting and educating her. she also had an interaction earlier on Twitter today that involved learning that queer is a word that not everyone likes and IDs with; can we recognize that not every person in the community has all the same knowledge and that she’s still trying and learning?
there you go @batmanisagatewaydrug. seriously though, y’all. keep an eye out, call people out when they’re doing problematic shit, but keep in mind that not everyone is completely educated and that we’re all doing our best.
