People defend CEOs who pay shitty wages by saying that a business’s only job is to make a profit.

But when people interview for jobs, they’re expected to have a reason why they want the job. Someone who says “I want this job for the money.” would never get hired.

In other words, CEOs are allowed to openly admit to only caring about money, but the employees who make minimum wage or barely above it are expected to believe that money doesn’t matter.
