I’m going to say something super controversial here: billionaires shouldn’t exist

i used to think billionaires were like. slightly richer millionaires but for reference: a million seconds is 12 days, a billion seconds is THIRTY TWO YEARS.

no one can convince me that it’s possible to possess a billion dollars, much less dozens of billions of dollars, and not be a disgusting terrible shitty unethical heartless human being

I don’t know how to stand by this, because I want to be rich. But I also don’t want to be a selfish POS in doing so.

Good news! There’s a ton of room between ‘rich’ and ‘billionaire’. For example, if you have 10 million dollars, you are rich. You are also only at 1% of a single billion.  It’s like how it’d be valid to say ‘I like swimming’ but then still not want everyone to drown in a horrific flood.

That’s why it’s important to realize just how massively unreasonable a billion dollars is. You could still have tons of money, fame, luxury, quality, etc, all flooding your life without ever coming close to being a billionaire. There’s no conflict between wanting to be rich but thinking billionaires take it way the hell too far.
