kinda sucks for Zelda that she went to three sacred springs and heard nothing whereas Link can roll up to any dinky old goddess statue and Hylia’s just like, “oh hey man, what’s good, got any orbs?”
“i am a monument to all your sins” is such a fucking raw line for a villain it’s amazing that it came from halo, a modernish video game, and not some classical text or mythos
classic texts have nothing on the crazy people come up with in modern times tbh
“I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me.”
– Joshua Graham, Who Is A Fallout New Vegas NPC, Something Most People Throwing This Quote Around Don’t Realize
“If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have.”
– Shadow the Hedgehog in what is widely considered one of if not the single worst game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise
this is the source for this text and it haunts me on a regular basis
“Do you think God stays in heaven because he too, lives in fear of what he’s created?”
my strangest legacy – in high school, for one reason or another (I can’t remember) my friends and I wrote “34 days until March 2nd” on the whiteboard in the drama classroom. It was completely arbitrary but we kept it it up, “30 days until March 2nd” ”23 days until March 2nd” etc. It spread around enough that the entire school is buzzing about what is going to happen on March 2nd. We figure we should think of something and decide to bring in cake. There were about 13 of us in total committed to bringing a cake. On March 2nd, during 3rd period lunch we all entered the cafeteria in a line (the parade of the cakes) and laid them out—a grand cake buffet for everyone in that lunch period. We did it the next year. And after we graduated it kept going.
This past March 2nd was the 9th year they’ve done it. It’s become a school sponsored event. There are t-shirts for this thing every year. March 2nd is cake day. I am a god.
my former teacher sent me a package. it’s the 10th anniversary this year. they’re already getting ready for march 2nd. it’s january.
It’s this time of the year again 🙂
11th year this year. more than a decade of cake day
When two black men were arrested at Starbucks for no reason, so many in our communities rallying around them to right the wrong that was done to them. Arresting black people for simply existing in a space is a form of institutional racism. But that same energy for protesting against police brutality towards black women is NOT there. Chikesia Clemons is a young black women who was brutally arrested in a Waffle House because she refused to pay 0.50 cents for cutlery. She was tackled to ground with her breasts exposed by three white male officers who threatened to break her arm. Her story has not gone viral, she had no white bystanders speak up for her, and is not getting enough vocal support from black leaders. Where are the white feminists who support #metoo? Where are all the black male celebrities who vowed to use the platform and boycott Starbucks? The media silence on her brutal sexual assault by law enforcement speaks volumes to how the suffering of black women is not seen as a priority. Black women are victims of police brutality too and we need justice.
Let’s be real. If little girls’ knees, shoulders, and clavicles are a problem for male teachers, you don’t have a dress code issue. You have a pedophile issue.
and of course white antis and other non black antis reblogged in support of wanting a black movie to flop. there was pushback too but those ppl were blocked. and that person already had me blocked before i could even reply to it.
“Looks like a jewish stereotype” y i k e s
I’m Jewish and disturbed by this whole thing. Not only that type of language getting thrown around but I don’t like that fact that my Jewishness is being used to attack an important film created by black people about real people and real events. And the worst part is that they are so full of it. I guarantee you none of these people have attacked any other film or actor who was cast a non Jewish person in a Jewish role. I too wish Hollywood cast a more Jewish people in Jewish roles but that doesn’t overrule the importance of having this story created and told. And I’m not even going to pretend it’s the exact same thing as when white people are cast in Asian, Black, Native American roles. That’s more problematic.
