Critical reading and textual analysis are really good skills to have, and I definitely do get tired of the “English teachers are liars and nothing actually means anything and if a writer did anything cool it was accidental” attitude I see batted around on here, but to say that if everyone had better analytical skills we’d all come to the same conclusions is… really reductive and missing the point of what critical analysis actually is.
Also it’s important to understand that critical analysis involves applying a theoretical framework or interpretive lens to a text–and because there’s a near-infinite number of potential frameworks or lenses, two equally rigorous critical approaches can draw completely different conclusions from a text.
Critical analysis is subjective. You should be skeptical anytime you hear, “If you just knew how to think critically, you would agree with me,” even if you do happen to agree with the viewpoint being put forth.

A zine (short for “fanzine”, a blend of the words “fan” and “magazine”) is a published, physically printed and/or digital collection of illustrations and written word, and usually also a collaborative project.
Each planet displayed in the zine is going to be different, original and have a varying theme. It’s a great occassion to get creative!
The general mood of each piece may vary, depending on the creator’s idea. Maybe you’d like to create a soft, romantic piece consisting of Keith and Lance gazing into the sunset together? You’re free to go! Maybe you’d rather have them stranded on a jungle-like planet and having to deal with whatever trouble comes along? Go ahead! Or maybe you’d like to see them having silly, light-hearted fun on a snow-covered planet? Going on an secret undercover mission? Fighting the bad guys? Exploring a technologically advanced planet? Buying souvenirs? Yes to all of these! Go wild with your ideas!

This is an all ages zine and, therefore, all works must be strictly SFW.
It is possible to include other characters in your pieces but the main focus has to be on Keith and Lance.

Right now, the team consists of 4 mods. And in the future, depending on how many people apply, 20 to 40 artists and 4 to 10 writers are going to be accepted to work on the zine, too!
