Of course you don’t. Free college might hinder the school-to-prison pipeline your  prison owning donors depend on

welp;

Actual quote, in context:

“I believe that we should make community college free. We should have debt-free college if you got to a public college or university. You should not have to borrow a dime to pay tuition… I disagree with free college for everybody. I don’t think taxpayers should be paying to send Donald Trump’s kids to college.“

Don’t spread misinformation just to fit a narrative, Clinton is advocating for there to be a cap on who gets free college so that the government doesn’t have to subsidize the education of people with enough disposable income to pay for it themselves. The plan she’s proposing would have a better chance of being passed, is more cost-effective, and still opens up higher education to low-income individuals who previously couldn’t afford it.

Reblogging this as an example of what the Russian interference here on tumblr was. I have seen some people in the past days casting doubts on Tumblr because the blogs that were banned had social justice content.

But that was the point exactly. They posted some real things and a lot of half-truths that would appeal to the kind of politics on here and therefore spread disinformation to discourage us from participating in stopping Trump through the only option we had. I’m glad tumblr left these posts up so we could see for ourselves.

I don’t know if it actually worked on anyone, I hope we all remember to check our sources before making our decisions, but life is short and maybe some people didn’t.  There are plenty of real social justice blogs available still, so I hope we will follow those instead.

forget slow burn romance, give me slow burn found family. give me enemies to friends to siblings. tired, weary old mentors learning to live again for their plucky young apprentices. heroes sharing apartments after world saving adventures because they’re so used to living with each other. dramatic “oh shit” moments where one gets kidnapped and the other realizes “god, that’s my kid.” i want to sit and watch in agony for thirty chapters while two idiots slowly adopt each other, someone get on it

A condor has struck up an unusual friendship with a man who saved the huge creature’s life.

The man nursed the condor back to health after it reportedly fell from a nest as a baby.

And the condor clearly didn’t forget his rescuer, as video footage shows the pair greeting each other with hugs and one big warm embrace, after the condor returned.

After being rescued, the condor – the largest bird in North America – was then able to learn how to fly and return to normal life.

today, 28/03/2018, has been declared a national day of mourning in russia

three days ago there has been a huge fire in a shopping mall in my native city of kemerovo. according to the official data, at least 64 people are dead or missing.

the circumstances are really grim. in one of the cinema halls on the top floor, where the fire started, a group of middle schoolers was locked and had no way out; no one came to save them. when the fire alarm went off, one of the (so-called) safety guards turned it off “so as not to spread panic”. a lot of people in charge acted completely irresponsibly.

it is now known that the city administration approved the plan of the building despite it violating all fire safety regulations, and so it stood unchecked for 5 years.

yesterday thousands of people gathered on the central square, in front of the administration building. they were protesting corruption, irresponsibility, the selfish and indifferent attitude of the local authorities.

[”The country is on fire”]

[”Corruption kills” / “I don’t see. I don’t hear. I don’t talk”]

the authorities have been accusing people, many of whom lost their family/friends, of using the tragedy to promote opposition ideas. a lot of people in power showed their ugliest side when speaking about it. “children die everyday”, our municipal administration responded to people calling for its resignation.

people all around russia stood up in solidarity with the victims while the federal and regional governments were still silent. the official memorial meeting in moscow was scheduled only hours after it became known of the inofficial one, organized by ordinary people, and after some opposition figures voiced their support for it.

people are shaken. people are mourning. but at the same time, people see what lies behind the tragedy, and they step up and raise their voices, speaking against corruption, greed and hypocrisy which causes so many deaths.

please, don’t forget about the people of russia.

may i ask that you don’t tag this post with any of your speculations about the “actual” body count. there has been a case of pranksters calling city morgues telling them to prepare to receive hundreds of bodies just for the fun of that. stop fearmongering, as if the actual count isn’t fucking enough
