But can we talk about the subtle ways he’s been focusing in on Blackness with their latest album? In the Centuries music video, he portrays Jesus as a Black man. In another scene with three women, it’s a dark skinned Black women who is front and center, and the white women are to either side of her. The album art for American Beauty/American Psycho features a young white boy with a black and white American flag on his face. It’s a recession flag, but symbolizes a call for change and has more recently it’s been used as a response to the police brutality. It’s used a lot in hip hop… usually hung sideways. He also said that the Ferguson protests inspired some of the lyrics on that album. Some awesome things to consider.

Shoutout to passing mixed people acknowledging their heritage and struggle!

Reminder: Mixed race people often get shit on for being “too pale” and often cannot take part in their own heritage and culture for fear of backlash from folks shouting “cultural appropriation.” Mixed race folks who can and do stay true to their heritage are such wonderful, brave people.

Can we also talk about how this is the best translation tool for non English speakers? I want this for traveling!

You’re telling me someone designed something widely useful AND remembered that colorblindness is a thing that exists?

I’m. So. Excited. About. This.

Me at a new Dungeons and Dragons game

DM: Please describe your new character

Me: ok cool *literally just says the lyrics of Short Skirt/Long Jacket by Cake*

needless to say, I’ve been thinking about this all day and have over analyzed this to try to determine exactly what this character would be. So class:

I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what’s best

Its clear from these lines that she has high intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence is emphasized with the lines “
She is fast and thorough/And sharp as a tack” and considering she is fast she likely has high dexterity.

So this is a Dex/Wisdom/Intelligence build which makes me think that she is a ranger. She may, however be using a dueling fighting style instead of archery, since later lines say she “uses a machete” so she clearly has still with one-handed weaponry.

Her alignment is suggested in two instances. One being “With fingernails that shine like justice.” Though this doesn’t necessarily mean she idealizes justice, this can be implied. So she is on the good end of the good/evil spectrum, and because she “uses a machete to cut through red tape” she clearly is not lawful. She does not get bogged down with bureaucracy but cuts through it. There is not other indications that she chaotic, so I am inclined to call her neutral, making her neutral good.

Her race is harder to pin down, but given that she was “eyes that burn like cigarettes,” that may suggest that she was red or orange eyes. This means  Drow or Tiefling. Now, given that she also has, “shoes that cut” this could suggest that she has sharp hooves, meaning Tiefling. I would also point out that she changes her name from Kitty to Karen, and Tiefling are known for taking on new names.

So TL:DR, the girl with a short skirt and long jacket is a neutral good tiefling ranger named Karen who specializes in a dueling fighting style

This is the best D&D-related post I’ve seen in months, fantastic work.

This legitimately will be my next character inspiration

‘dont say gay if youre bi’ lmao lets all leave the house! lets all go outside and get a big gulp of fresh air is what im thinking

Fuck outta here. People don’t want us to label ourselves as gay but when we just say we’re queer they still get mad?? Can bisexual people not have umbrella terms? Or other queer people for that matter?

Also, sexuality is a spectrum and you can have intersectional sexualities. My roommate is bisexual and demisexual so it’s much easier for her to say that she’s queer or gay instead of listing off the labels she prefer.

Can people just hop off each other’s dicks and let us live our live the way we want??

im screaming @ this passive agressive addition to a post that was actually in support of bisexuals calling themselves gay…who u fightin sis

my favorite thing about “fbi/nsa agent monitoring my computer” things is it implies that there is at least one agent for every single person on earth with a computer

not really.

like i know this is a shitpost but just in case folks aren’t aware: the fbi and nsa and whatev gov agencies do monitor all internet traffic. The idea tho is to catalogue and scan for things like keywords and other data analysis and use that info to flag accounts/ip addresses/identities. Basically, building massive databases of information on all people just in case you become a threat to the state.

Think of it like an automatic file being built on every single person in real time. Should you do anything to warrant state suppression, your file may be flagged for further investigation which may lead to being actively tracked or suppressed (as evidenced in the past with COINTELPRO)

so no, there isn’t an agent per person. But you bet your ass there is a profile of you that connects all your electronic activity (including GPS data/metadata and tracking via MAC addresses, user agents and/or unique hardware identifiers) to intelligence agencies.

of course, much of this is intended to specifically instill fear, uncertainty, and doubt as part of a larger culture of fear.

but I figure it is better to know what’s going on so you can understand what’s happening.

so anyway, yeah, shit’s real yo.
