MAKE HIM REGRET

*spec prep*

BEING BORN

*spec prep*

So my husband tells a story about a guy he worked with at his first job. They’d regularly go to a Thai restaurant near their office – one of those really legit places where grandma is the chef. So the guy says one day to their server, looks this girl dead in the eye, and says “You can’t make it hot enough.”

Server gives him this look like “your funeral” and takes the order to the kitchen. GRANDMA COMES OUT AND LOOKS AT THIS POOR WHITE BOY, shakes her head, and goes back in the kitchen.

When the dish comes out, it’s a solid mass of just RED. Dudes at the table are dying just sitting near it. This guy tries his damnedest, gets about five bites in, and can’t do it. Mr You-cant-make-it-hot-enough was fucking obliterated by Chef Grandma.

And to add insult to injury, they replaced the dish for him, and GRANDMA BRINGS IT OUT, gives him a look and shakes her head.

I think there’s a reasonable chance this was his receipt.

Do Your Fucking Research *Nicki Minaj Voice*

Wow… Lmao.

Some people threw white paint on it a few years back.

They want to be a victim so bad.

Fun Fact: That’s a statue of the fist which Joe Louis used to knock out Max Schmeling, Hitler’s favored heavyweight boxer in 1938. Schmeling won the 1st bout by knockout in round twelve, but Joe Louis came back in the follow-up match and laid him the fuck out in the 1st round.

Fun Fact: Schmeling was hated by the Nazis for losing to a black man and for having a Jewish manager, and he hated them right back, stating in 1975 that he was glad he’d lost the fight because the thought of  the Nazis using him for propaganda purposes sickened him. He also personally saved the lives of two Jewish children and later became lifelong friends with Joe Louis.

So maybe don’t refer to him as “Hitler’s favored heavyweight boxer”…

Thank you for this additional info!

Reblogging this for the added facts and so people know that Schmeling wasn’t a Nazi or Nazi collaborator and was in fact a good man

Imagine hating Nazis so much that when you get beaten up your response is “Good, now they can’t use me as a role model.”

And even if it WERE a Black Panther memorial, the Panthers are about RESISTANCE to hatred and oppression.

This is almost a textbook-perfect example of how one of the essential elements of Nazi propaganda is appropriation- not just cultural, but individual and interpersonal. They have a long history of not only willing atrocity but using the images, careers, and symbols of others against their will as icons. Fascists don’t just hate the accomplishments of their critics, they claim, profiteer off, and retroactively ruin the accomplishments of people who aren’t even their friends but superficially are useful to them.

Poland to Freeze Law Returning Stolen Property to Jewish Survivors

The Polish government has decided to “re-examine” a draft bill to compensate Holocaust survivors for property confiscated from Jews during World War 2, Ynet reported, citing the World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO), which expressed a concern that the Polish Justice Ministry would slip the bill into cold storage for the foreseeable future.

WJRO chairman Gideon Taylor his expressed deep concern about the move, and called on the Polish government to expedite and improve the bill. “We call on the Polish government to enact a just and fair law for all those whose properties have been confiscated, including Holocaust survivors from Poland and their families,” he said, adding, “The survivors who waited more than 70 years cannot wait any longer.”

It is believed that the reason for returning the law to the Justice Ministry is the wave of anti-Semitism sweeping Poland, and the government’s fear that returning property to Jews would not win them friends in the Polish public.

The draft bill, which was published in October and sparked an international storm (the WJRO criticized it harshly because it included clauses that effectively prevent any reparations to the vast majority of the survivors and their families), was supposed to be approved by the end of 2017.

According to the bill, a survivor who wishes to file a claim must be a Polish citizen (today) who lived in the country when their property was confiscated by the communist regime. Under these conditions, most survivors who left Poland during or immediately after the Holocaust would not be able to file a lawsuit.

Hey, people who were arguing about Jews being super mean and unfair to Polish gentiles! What’s your rationalization for this? Is this because “it was war”? Were you taught about compensation for property confiscated from Jews “every few years since elementary school [about the Holocaust]”? Are you still going to claim that Poles don’t hate Jews for being Jewish? Are you going to try to spin this into some form of “Jewish people killed other Jews in the Ghetto” thing?

Just let us know what’s the totally not antisemitic, anti-Romani, or racist Holocaust revisionism/denialism reason for not compensating survivors of a genocide for property stolen by their former neighbors who were not genocide victims. Thanks! (sarcasm)

Between this and the new law making it illegal to discuss Poland’s role in the Holocaust*, Poland is really fucking up lately.

*It’s slightly more complex than that, of course, but it’s still not good.

Poland is the literal worst

To say I am embarrassed of my fucked up government would be the understatement of the century.

Voice inside my head: There’s a reason you’re not more popular and successful as an artist.  The things you care about creating aren’t things that the general public cares about.  You should use your warmup time to do stuff that’s more crowd pleasing, like half-nude sketches of your prettiest characters kissing each other.

Me: Yeah, I hear you.  But what I really need to do today is paint fingernails onto a photo of raw hot dogs.

They can flip off this country all they want considering the fact it was theirs first.

Isn’t Mt. Rushmore sacred to native peoples? Kinda fucked up we put their killers faces on it

Yes. Before the sculptures were built, the land was sacredly owned by indigenous tribes. In 1980, the land was illegally taken away from them by the supreme court. Not to mention, one of the main people who manufactured the sculptures was literally apart of the KKK… So yeah.. they are more than welcome to flip off these so called “masterpieces”

Anyone know if this is true of false?

I literally…….provided sources…………..
