The fact that he saw these two characters that had so much potential for an interesting relationship with interesting conflicts that aren’t based on putting someone down or bickering…as two criminals on the run from some Western movie… honestly…. it was boring bc he can’t write. Nevermind that Canto Bight is STILL boring!
Also can we talk about how characters do not need to fucking clash all the time to create conflict? Isn’t the fact that they have to get back in time to save the entire resistance enough tension? What did he think he was writing? A telenovela? I wanna barf.
“Uwuwu they don’t challenge each other” how about you write interesting obstacles for them to overcome as a team instead you dipshit? One of the most annoying things of the movie is that NONE of the characters get along. Rian has no idea how to create conflict or tension, but he sure as hell loves acting like he invented screenwriting.
