Sometimes I catch a little flack for saying, “Republicans are evil” but nah … I never feel bad for saying it because it’s true.
How heartless do you have to be to block common sense gun regulation right in the faces of the students who recently survived a mass shooting?
Civilians do not need an AR-15. Anyone who believes that the 2nd Amendment means owning absolutely ANY weapon you want is childish and emblematic of white male entitlement. And yeah, I’m keying in on white men. They’re the overwhelming majority of mass school shooters. And no, I’m not worried about “being nice” or hurting a gun owner’s delicate little, snowflake feelings. It’s past time for all of that.
Keep in mind: Florida’s Governor Rick Scott and Florida’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi – they both pushed to lower the age requirement for buying AR-15s. The Parkland mass shooter was 19-years old. Not old enough to buy liquor, but old enough to buy a lethal weapon of mass destruction in the state of Florida. And Donald Trump’s federal budget cuts funding for mental health services and also cuts funding for background checks. Republicans obviously DO NOT care about “the children” or they wouldn’t have spat in their faces.
The NRA is a death-cult. The Republican Party is evil. Republican voters are their simple minded, easily manipulated death-cult followers.
Notes: “Nuzzle” may not be the most accurate translation for “surisuri,” but I thought it had a warm and fuzzy ring to it that fit the imagery better than “rub-rub” or something similar. Did you know that after they switched to blind auditions, major symphony orchestras hired women between 30% to 55% more? Before bringing in “blind auditions” with a screen to conceal the the candidate, women in the top 5 major orchestras made up less than 5% of the musicians performing.
so I believe it was actually more complicated than that, in interesting ways. Because at first, when they did blind auditions, they were STILL hiring more men.
…Then they put down a carpet, so that high heels didn’t clack on the floor, and BOOM women were suddenly getting hired.
The testers didn’t even know that’s what they were picking up on, which just goes to show how tiny of a cue it takes for misogyny to kick in.
The case of blind auditions for orchestras and how it dramatically changed the gender makeup of orchestras is a very illuminating example of gender bias, and an interesting possible way of countering it.

Jackie Chan cheated on his wife and got another woman pregnant. rather than step up, he refused to have a part in his child’s life and is openly ashamed that she exists. he provided financial support for a time, but that doesn’t fix his absence and resentment. he punished his child for his own mistakes.
other things he’s done:
admitted to beating his son and said that children need to be hit to be punished–“I’ve always believed kids need to be smacked to be disciplined. Parents discipline kids in the hope they can avoid making more mistakes, especially those I’ve made when I was young. If you only speak to a kid about it, he won’t listen.” he also stated that he’s not a good father, but that’s okay because he’s strict and responsible (???).
